- Performing reviews on Contractor’s RAMS submissions (hazard log, fire safety, safety case...) and Operator’s Safety Management System.
- Providing interface between the Rail Agency and all the project stakeholders (Engineer, Contractor, Railway Operator and Maintainer, Independent Safety Assessor and Regulatory Authority) for all aspects related to system assurance.
- Managing the hazard transfer process and supporting the implementation of railway protection by-laws within the Rail Agency.
- Monitoring the performance of the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) and assessing the safety readiness of the railway (systems and operations).

- Defining the reliability and risk management strategy including the drafting of specifications for qualification testing.
- Monitoring the compliance with contract specifications and evaluation of Contractors’ bids for SSPS (Subsea Separation and Production System) & SURF (Subsea Umbilical Riser and Flow-line) packages.
- Completing RAM analysis and defining production availability targets.
- Determination of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements and application of the As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) principle.
- Participation in offshore Hazardous and Operability Studies (HAZOP) reviews.

- Completing preliminary hazard analysis (PHA), operating and support hazard analysis (OSHA), fault tree analysis (FTA) and SIL assessment.
- Performing reliability analysis, FMECA and logistic support analysis.
- Evaluating maintainability aspects including mean time to repair (MTTR), spare parts strategy, maintenance plans and testability analysis.
