Import-Export and Operations Manager
Since I joined MAF Carrefour in Jan 2005, I am in charge of the full logistic process, from the suppliers factory abroad until back door of our stores in the region.
I first implemented the supply chain process in Egypt then I joined the company Head Office in UAE.
In Dubai we handle the business at regional level. We import from everywhere and reexport through the entire Gulf region.
UAE – GCC Head office
- Management of the Import supply chain : food / non food.
300 M.AED (82 M. USD) transferred to stores per year
- Sourcing and benchmarking the freight forwarders and shipping companies : sea / air / land
Procurement position : 800 Containers per year, 30 tons of fresh products by air per week
- Ensure / secure daily deliveries to all UAE stores
13 Hypermarkets and 12 Supermarkets delivered on daily basis.
- Re-export to all GCC stores from Dubai based warehouses
18 hypermarkets in the GCC out of UAE
- Monitoring and control of the warehouses and third party logistic
4,500 picking lines and 250 CBM outbound per day.
- Merchandise and information flows (IT) follow up
Implementation of IT interface between stores, warehouse and head Office
- Strong relationship with Dubai Municipality and Dubai Customs
Regulation, custom duties, health compliance, products registration
2005 - 2008- Sourcing abroad with the merchandise managers
- Set up and control of the Import supply chain
- Export of N1 products manufactured in Egypt to the rest of the Group
- Logistic for the Group concerning assets bought in Egypt
- Import Head of File : Support for the rest of the Group in their Import Activity
2001 - 2005CAMIF Group: third largest French distributor of mail Order (VPC) in B to C.
First operator in the B-to-B education environment.
- Coordinating agencies, international partners and providers
- Restructuring the activity and creating a division for supervising the international tenders (2002)
- Implementing ISO 9001 (2000 version) in the agency for AFAQ certification
- Centralizing the group activity around an export center and creating synergies and savings
